Thrips are a destructive garden pest that damage fruit, leaves, and plant appearance. Thrips will cause leaves to become papery, develop lesions, and prematurely fall off. If an infestation has gotten out of hand, this could stunt plant growth and fruit development. Certain plants and vegetable crops are more susceptible to thrip damage, especially when they haven’t matured fully. In addition to the physical damage thrips inflict on plants, they are also known to be vectors for several plant diseases that can damage or kill specific plants. While thrips pose a significant threat to several plants, they rarely pose a threat to the survival of heartier plants like shrubs or trees.
