Eco-Friendly Pest Control Services

At EcoGuard Pest Management our top concern is your health and safety. As a family-owned company, we pride ourselves on using materials with the least environmental impact. Along with our standard products and services we also offer pet and family friendly green products.

There have been many changes made to how pest control is implemented over the years. EcoGuard has been around for most of them. The change that we have always been proud to stand behind is our dedication to using green and eco-friendly pest management practices.

EcoGuard uses integrated pest management (IPM) methods to ensure that our company doesn’t solely rely on chemical pesticides as a pest control solution. We are licensed and trained in how to effectively and efficiently use a mix of different treatment strategies that help reduce our reliance on standard insecticides and rodenticides.

What is Eco-Friendly Pest Control?

Eco-friendly pest management utilizes an integrated pest management approach designed to successfully reduce pest populations while also minimizing potentially dangerous impacts on people and the environment. Its multifaceted approach makes it more effective against pest populations because pests are being targeted from multiple directions making it difficult for populations to grow into infestations.

Our process includes

  • Inspection
  • Assessment
  • Action
  • Follow Up
  • Maintenance

During the assessment, the best treatment options will be determined. We focus on target areas and only use enough product to ensure that the pest problem is eliminated. Once a pest population is effectively exterminated, preventative measures and on-going maintenance will help prevent further heavy application.

The Importance of Eco-Friendly Pest Control

Being exposed to harsh pesticides that contain dangerous chemicals is never recommended so substituting green pest control products is a safe alternative. Our all natural service option uses pesticides that are designed to use essential oils from plants, to help mitigate specific pest populations. In addition to pesticides, we also implement natural bio pesticides, growth reduction strategies, and beneficial organisms.

Key Benefits

  • Beneficial pests are left unharmed
  • Runoff doesn’t pollute waterways
  • No aquatic requirements allow for treatment above or near open water
  • Safe and effective when misting, fogging, broad area spraying, or applying local spot treatment
  • Tested and proven performance
  • Excellent for interior residential and commercial

How We Use IPM to Keep Pests Away

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is defined as “an ecosystem-based strategy that focuses on long term prevention of pests and their damage through a combination of techniques such as biological control, habitat manipulation, modification of cultural practices, and use of resistant varieties. Pesticides are used only after monitoring indicates they are needed according to established guidelines, and treatments are made with the goal of removing only the target organism.”

EcoGuard uses IPM as the foundation of our practice and we ensure that each application has been calculated and mixed to stay within the guidelines as outlined by the state of California. We also emphasize the importance of preventative practices and ongoing monitoring to ensure early detection.

All Natural Alternatives

The products that compliment our IPM strategy, are natural and made with essential oils extracted from beneficial plants. Our all-natural solution primarily uses two products, Essentria Pro, and Essentria Granular.

Essentria Product Details

EcoGuard Pest Management is a leader in natural pest control application.

Essentria is based on botanical actives and is a 25(b) minimum risk insecticide, it does not require a re-entry period, making it perfect for treating accounts with a lot of human activity such as schools, day care facilities and commercial establishments. Essentria can also be used in many areas where efficacy cannot be compromised, while treatments must be made in the most chemically sensitive way possible. Zoos, animal clinics, educational facilities, government buildings, healthcare facilities and interior treatments of residential accounts are a few examples of such sites. Food processing facilities also directly benefit because Essentria Pro applications may be made while the plant is in operation.

Essentria is NOP (National Organic Program) compliant which makes it the product of choice for operators everywhere who are treating organic facilities of all types. This includes food processing facilities, restaurants, and retail establishments where organic produce is sold. This feature also makes Essentria Pro the “Gold Standard” product for all Green Pest Management accounts.

Essentria has no aquatic toxicity, therefore, applications may be made near or over open water. This allows for the mitigation of spiders around boat docks and marinas. This also allows for thorough mosquito abatement treatments in areas where foliage runs adjacent to and over bodies of water.

Essentria Pro

It contains rosemary oil, peppermint oil, and several other natural ingredients that are effective against ants, roaches, spiders, and other household pests. Pro can also be used in many areas where efficacy cannot be compromised and where treatments must be made in the most chemically sensitive way possible. Zoos, animal clinics, educational facilities, government buildings, healthcare facilities and interior treatments of residential accounts are a few examples of such sites. Food processing facilities also directly benefit because Essentria Pro applications may be made while the plant is in operation.
