Experienced Fly Exterminators

Flies are one of the most persistent nuisance pests that homeowners and tenants must deal with today. Densely populated urban areas with exposed waste receptacles in common areas have become the perfect breeding ground for these pests. They then move indoors in search of food and to escape the elements. If a steady source of food is found, they will lay eggs which quickly develop into adult flies inside your home. This cycle repeats rapidly which could cause a fly problem to explode quickly. At EcoGuard Pest Management our maintenance program will ensure that your home is fly free all year long. We have over 40 years of combined experience using an integrated pest management (IPM) approach to provide fly control services. These pests are generally not much of a concern, but they do pose a threat as they can contaminate food and spread disease. This is why it is so important to ensure that an experienced pest control technician finds and treats the problem area before a fly infestation occurs.

EcoGuard offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee for all our customers and we stand by our promise to eradicate your fly problem. That fly pest control guarantee comes with every service and if the flies come back, then so do we, at no additional cost. We are standing by to give you a free estimate and to help you set your first fly pest control service appointment. Give us a call today!

Fly Information

Fly facts and treatment

These flying insects generally feed on decaying organic matter which is why they are often seen swarming around dead animals and trash. Not only do they spread disease by transferring bacteria to the surfaces they land on, the also spread germs when they eat. The way they feed is by spitting up liquids that dissolve solids down and then sucking that fluid up with their straw like tongues. This spreads the different diseases found inside the fly gut as flies spit up on just about every surface they land on. Over 100 pathogens, including salmonella, e coli, and staphylococcus, are known to be attributed to flies. Every time they land, they are shedding thousands of microbes that can lead to diseases like food poisoning, diarrhea, and even meningitis.

Flies start as eggs before developing into larvae, which are known as maggots, before developing into adults. Depending on the species, the life cycle from egg to adult can be as short as 8 days or as long as a year. The common house fly will survive for roughly a month and in that time can produce several generations of flies that can account for up to over a million eggs combined. Once hatched, flies typically stay near where they spent their larval stage but will migrate short distance in search of food and optimal environments.

Thorough Inspection – It all starts with a home inspection to identify any potential breeding grounds and entry points for flies.

Pesticide Application – Pesticide applications are applied to areas that have been identified as breeding grounds for flies. This is to ensure that all maggots have been exterminated.

Fly Exclusion – To prevent flies from entering, doors and windows that are exposed should be sealed up anywhere there that could provide fly access.

Fly Baits – Fly baits and traps are designed to be an alternative to chemical applications. These come in the form of sticky fly traps and other fly catching mechanisms.

Improving Sanitation / Removing Decay – This method is largely preventative and should help improve the chances that flies do not find food sources to sustain themselves.

All Natural / Organic Fly Treatment – EcoGuard offers an all-natural fly treatment option designed to be ecofriendly and safe for the environment as well as your children and pets.

Fly FAQs

  • Can pest control get rid of flies?

If flies become a problem, it may be time to get a professional pest control company like EcoGuard involved to help. We utilize an integrated pest management approach to eliminate all signs of fly activity in your home.

  • How do I get rid of a fly infestation in my house?

If a fly problem exists, the best way to get rid of them is find and remove their breeding sites and larval habitat. There are other natural deterrent methods but removing the larval habitat is the best method to ensure that there are no more flies present in your home.

  • How much do exterminators cost for flies?

Fly exterminator services rendered by EcoGuard can fluctuate depending on variables like severity of infestation and size of treatment area. That said, we price competitively to ensure that we provide the best value.

  • Can you spray your house for flies?

The use of spray pesticides or foggers are generally not the most effective method of fly extermination. This is due to them being able to escape most aerosol treatments. The more effective method is to use chemical pesticides in areas that show fly activity with the intent that they infect themselves by coming in contact with one of our low toxicity pesticides.
